CAVIは新しい動脈硬化の指標として、血管壁のstiffness(血管の硬さ)を抽出することにより、血圧値の影響を殆ど受けない検査として報告されている。ところが20歳台健常若年者に実施した場合でも、CAVI値が40歳台と判定されるなど、測定値が実際と解離する場合があった。検査の同時再現性や測定付近（四肢）への寒冷負荷など、どのような要因により誤差がもたらされるかを検討する。

CAVI is reported as the inspection which undergoes an influence with blood pressure value hardly by extracting stiffness in the vein as the index of the new arteriosclerosis.

不明な原因により実際と異なった成績が報告される場合があった。この原因が分かれば測定法の信頼性が高まり、多くの血管障害の予防に貢献できる。
