慢性腎臓病において，
１）腎動脈エコーにより診断される動脈硬化性腎動脈狭窄症の程度と相関する臨床的因子（腎機能，尿検査，血圧，血清脂質，血糖など）を横断的に明らかにし，
２）腎動脈狭窄症の程度（腎動脈エコーの各種指標）と腎機能，心血管合併症との関連を検討することにより，慢性腎臓病における動脈硬化性腎動脈狭窄症の早期診断に有用な臨床指標を明らかにすることを目的とする。

各施設の腎臓内科において，平成20年4月から平成22年3月までに，慢性腎臓病で腎動脈エコー（超音波）検査を受けた方を対象とする。
通常の診療範囲内で行われた腎動脈エコー所見，腎臓病に関する基本的診療・検査情報（下記Ｃ参照）を用いて，腎動脈エコーのResistive Index，腎動脈・大動脈血流比（RAR）と慢性腎臓病ステージ分類との関係や診療・検査情報との相関関係について，ベースラインの統計学的検討を行う。またベースラインの腎動脈エコー所見と腎機能との関連，尿蛋白，心血管合併症（心筋梗塞，狭心症，脳梗塞，脳出血，大動脈瘤，下肢閉塞性動脈硬化症）との関連について多変量解析を含めた検討を行う。

The total study population included 107 patients (mean age: 50.2 years) with non-diabetic and diabetic CKD, who underwent renal Doppler ultrasonography between April 2009 and March 2011. We investigated the correlation between RI of the renal interlober arteries and multiple clinical parameters, including renal function and proteinuria.
