内頚静脈穿刺時の椎骨動脈誤穿刺を防ぐため、超音波診断装置を用いて内頚動静脈と椎骨動脈との解剖学的位置関係を明らかにする。

超音波診断装置（Sonosite社製 S-Nerve）のリニアプローブ（13-6MHz）を用いて体表よりB-mode法により血管を描出する。
輪状軟骨高位で右総頸動脈(CCA)、内頸静脈(IJV)、椎骨動脈(VA)のエコー像から血管のサイズ比、解剖学的位置関係、VAとIJVの最短距離を測定し記録し小児と成人との違いを統計学的に解析する

Linear probe (13-6MHz) of S-Nerve manufactured by Sonosite was used and blood vessels were visualized from body surface using the B-mode. Image of the right common carotid artery (CCA), right internal jugular vein (IJV) and right vertebral artery (VA) were recorded. To identify the vertebral artery, it was confirmed that the vertebral artery branched from the right subclavian artery using with Color Doppler method. Each size, anatomical relationship, the shortest distance between IJV nad VA are measured and statistilcally analyzed.
