　糖尿病診療において患者の受診中断は重要な課題である．筆者らは「糖尿病予防の
ための戦略研究」課題2（J-DOIT2）の成果をふまえて作成した「糖尿病受診中断対策
マニュアル」の有効性に関するパイロット研究を，全国14 医師会の121 人の医師を
対象に行った．
　その結果，主要評価項目である自己申告による受診中断数は，千人年当たり15.0
人から6.7 人に減少し，44.8％の医師が，受診中断が減少したと回答した．また，具
体的な対策として「効果がある」という回答を多く得たのは「受診継続の重要性を説
明する」「栄養指導・療養指導を行う」「薬剤による医療費負担を見直す」「待ち時
間を短くする」であった．「実施しやすい」という回答が多かった対策は，「受診継
続の重要性を説明する」「眼科受診を勧める（または眼底検査を行う）」であった．
　97.8％の医師が試験終了後も同マニュアルを「活用したい」「やや活用したい」と
回答した．
