日本語
管理栄養師が理想体重（IBW）を計算し、両群の被検者の毎日の食事療法を評価するために、各々の被検者と面談した。次に、彼らの普段の食事パターンに基づく摂取量として25-27kcal/kgIBW/日の摂取量に抑えるように、それぞれの被検者は指示された。その栄養士の面談は全試験期間(48週間)を通して8週おきに行われた。

Trained nutritionists interviewed each subject to calculate ideal body weight (IBW) and assess their daily diet. Then the subjects were instructed to reduce their dietary intake to between 25-27kcal/kg IBW/day based on their usual meal pattern. Participant-nutritionist contact in person was provided throughout the study period (48 weeks) once every 8 weeks.

タンパク質に置き換えた群は、1日あたり200kcalの炭水化物を減じた分で栄養士から指導を受け、その同じエネルギーを大豆タンパク質補助剤（明治乳業SAVAS WEIGHT DOWN、日本、東京）、水に溶解しそれを服用することで補填した。

Participants allocated to the protein replaced group were instructed to restrict dietary carbohydrate by 200 kcal/day and replace the same energy with a soy protein supplement (SAVAS WEIGHT DOWN: Meiji Co., Ltd., Tokyo, Japan) dissolved in water.

除外基準/Key exclusion criteria

日本語
除外基準は以下の通り：1)生活習慣病に関する治療を受けている方、2)心血管系疾患、脳梗塞、一過性脳虚血発作の既往のある方、3)悪性疾患の既往のある方、4)腎機能障害のある方（eGFR<60ml/min/1.73㎡）、5)妊娠している女性、妊娠の可能性のある女性、妊娠を計画している女性、授乳中の女性、6)その他、この試験に参加することができないと医師に判断された方。

The exclusion criteria were as follows: 1) current treatment for life style related disease, such as diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia, 2) a history of coronary artery disease, coronary revascularization, stroke, or transient ischemic attacks 3) malignancy, 4) renal dysfunction (estimated glomerular filtration rate < 60 mL/min/1.73 m2), 5) women who were pregnant, possibly pregnant, planned to become pregnant, or were breast-feeding, and 6) other patients who were considered to be ineligible for the study by the attending doctor.
