臨床研究やそれに関連する基礎科学研究を行うに際し、管理すべき情報は膨大で多岐にわたるが、情報通信技術の適用は進んでおらず、研究者の多くは表計算ソフト等によりその管理を行っている。そこで申請者らは当該情報を統合的に管理するソフトウェアを開発し実用化するに至ったが (臨床研究者向け総合管理システム)、本システムはパソコン単体で稼働する仕組みのため利用形態に制限があり、セキュリティの制約により電子カルテデータを十分に活用できないなどの改善点が存在する。本研究では、このような課題を解決しつつ、本システムのクラウド化および電子カルテ接続 (電子カルテから情報を手動あるいは自動でエキスポートしてシステムにインポートする) を通じた患者情報の秘匿性と研究者の利便性の両立が可能か (目的 1)、同システムを用いた共同研究機関間の情報共有が可能か (目的 2)、および人工知能 (AI) によるデータベースの解析により臨床研究組み入れ患者の抽出が可能か (目的 3)、の検証を行う。最終的には、本システムの機能の精度を人力による患者探索と比較検証することにより、組み入れ患者の精緻化および自動化の実現可能性を明らかにする (目的 4)

We are required to process a large amount of information for clinical and basic science research. However, most researchers use spreadsheet and/or notebooks. We have recently developed a database that integrates such information. The database runs on a single off-line computer to protect information including patient identification data. In this study, we will upload the database to a cloud service (Aim 1), determine if the program can be shared among collaborators (Aim 2), explore if the database automatically identifies patients who will be candidate of clinical trials (Aim 3), and clarify if the database is superior to conventional methods for selecting such candidates.
