日本語
　近年、認知症予防、健康増進、ストレスの軽減、QOLの向上等を目指し、「園芸福祉」や「園芸療法」が着目されている。欧米では認知症の発生リスクの軽減に園芸活動が有効であるといった報告があり、我が国の認知症予防プログラムにも園芸活動が導入され始めているが、その効果を客観的に証明した研究の数はまだまだ少ないことが現状である。その背景には、園芸活動の導入による場所の確保の不足、管理の手間など様々な要因があり、導入施設や研究者が少ないことが挙げられる。
　また、高齢者にとって園芸作業がどの程度のストレスの負荷や気分の変化をもたらしているのかといった検証はなされていない。園芸活動の中には、「アロマテラピー」も含まれており、アロマを使った活動は場所や職員不足等の制約を受けにくく、導入が容易であるといったメリットがある。高齢者にアロマテラピーを活用した既往研究では、神経症症状の改善やストレス軽減が報告されている。
　しかし、要介護の高齢者を対象にした事例は国内では見られない。そこで本研究ではアロマを用いて、高齢者に及ぼす影響を調査する。

2週間に4回の介入を行う。最初の2週間は対象期間として、プラセボオイルを用い、約30分のレクリエーション活動の前後で唾液コルチゾール、感情の変化、血圧、脈拍を計測する。続いての2週間は介入期間としてアロマオイルを用いた介入を行う。

Intervention 4 times in 2 weeks. For the first two weeks, placebo oil will be used to measure salivary cortisol, emotional changes, blood pressure, and pulse before and after about 30 minutes of recreational activity. For the next 2 weeks, intervention with aroma oil will be performed as an intervention period.

①睡眠剤や精神安定剤等の服薬がなく、施設内のレクリエーション活動に参加できる者
②ヒメクロモジアロマオイルのパッチテストに合格している者
③文書による同意が得られた者

1.Those who can participate in recreational activities in the facility without taking sleeping pills or tranquilizers
2.Those who have passed the patch test of Himekuromoji aroma oil
3.Those who have obtained written consent

除外基準/Key exclusion criteria

①睡眠剤や精神安定剤等の服薬がある者
②アレルギ－症状の体質を有する者（クロモジアロマオイルのパッチテストに不合格であった者）
③施設側の判断によって参加が認められない者
