生理学的評価として脳波を使用し、Thermal grill illusionにより誘発される灼熱痛に関連した脳波活動を検出する。
条件A．暖かい棒（40°C）と冷たい棒（20°C）が交互に4本ずつ並べられたキットの上に手を置いて、被験者が灼熱痛を感じたらボタンを押して知らせてもらう。条件B．暖かい棒（40°C）だけが8本並べられたキットの上に手を置いて、被験者が温かさを感じたらボタンを押して知らせてもらう。上記の条件AおよびBにおいて、ボタンを押してから5秒間の脳波活動を抽出する。また、刺激回数は各条件ともに20trialとして、それぞれの条件における痛みおよび不快感をNumerical Rating Scale（NRS: 0～10）で評価する。加えて、マギル疼痛質問表短縮版ver 2にて痛みの性質を評価する。

EEG is used as a physiological assessment to detect the EEG activity associated with the burning pain induced by the thermal grill illusion.
Condition A. Subjects place their hands on a kit of four alternating warm (40) and four alternating cold (20) sticks and are asked to press a button to indicate when they feel a burning pain. Condition B. Place your hand on a kit of eight warm sticks only (40) and ask the subject to press a button to indicate when he or she feels warmth. In conditions A and B above, the EEG activity is extracted for 5 seconds after the button is pressed. The number of stimuli will be 20 trials for each condition, and pain and discomfort in each condition will be assessed using the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS 0 to 10). In addition, they will use the McGill Pain Questionnaire ver 2 to assess the nature of the pain.
