本研究は5人の研究者で行われる。手続きは以下のとおりである。第一に、関連するキーワードを元に論文検索を行い、重複論文を除外する。第二に、研究者がペアを組み、独立してタイトルと要約をもとに、導入基準と除外基準に従う研究を特定する。第三に、抽出された論文の全文レビューを独立して行う。研究者間で研究の質の評価の意見の不一致があった場合には、すべての研究者の間で合意に達するまで検討を繰り返し行う。
得られたデータは、文献ごとに国、出版年、逮捕・受刑回数、強制入院回数などの項目ごとに表にまとめ、メタアナリシスが可能な場合には行う。

The study will be conducted by five researchers. The reviewing procedure is following: First, the researchers will search published articles based on relevant key words and remove duplicate articles. Second, the researchers will pair up and independently identify the articles according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Third, each pair of researchers will independently conduct full-text review of the articles. If there is disagreement among the researchers on the assessment of the quality of the articles, discussion should be repeated until a consensus is established among all researchers.
The data obtained will be tabulated by the country, publication year, arrests rate and readmission rate, psychiatric symptoms, and risk of violent behaviors. A meta-analysis will be conducted if available.
