After patients emptied their bladder at 7:00, urine samples were collected for measuring the urine glucose excretions (UGE)s every one hour from 7:00 to 15:00. The glucose sensor of the CGMS was inserted subcutaneously in each patient for monitoring blood glucose over the 8h interval. The data of UGE and the corresponding average blood glucose level for each subject was plotted on a scatter diagram to determine the value of the intercept of the regression line which was defined as RTg.
