Results

Two hundred and forty healthy subjects were included.
They were used as controls in a comparative study with schizophrenic patients recruited in another study, which showed that schizophrenic patients had smaller hippocampal volume and larger globus pallidus volume than normal subjects, and that antipsychotic drugs were involved in the volume changes.

Baseline Characteristics

Two hundred and forty healthy Japanese subjects were included in the study.

Participant flow

Psychosocial evaluation, psychiatric symptom evaluation, brain imaging, and neurophysiological testing were performed on healthy subjects who gave consent.
