Objectives

Narrative objectives1

In this study, we investigated the relationship between the curvature angle of the thoracic vertebrae and lumbar vertebrae at the time of take back and the long-throwing ability, and examined what the take-back motion of those with a high ability of long-throwing is. By doing so, it helps teach throwing motion at the sports scene.

Assessment

Primary outcomes

Medicine Ball Throw (MBT) at the sitting position was performed as an indicator of throwing motion. MBT distance has been shown to be able to measure muscular exercise of the whole body in a simple manner, and by doing it in the sitting position, it is possible to remove the influence of the lower limbs 6). The object was set on a platform of 40 cm with a knee joint 90 degree flexion position and a sitting posture with the sole of the foot in contact with the ground, and instructed orally to project 1 kg of medicine ball full force forward. Three measurements were taken and the average value was calculated. At the time of MBT distance measurement, a marker was affixed to the target shoulder peak, the tenth rib, and the greater trochanter, and the MBT motion was photographed using iPhone 7. Using Dartfish, the angle formed by the line connecting the shoulder peak and the tenth rib and the line connecting the tenth rib and the greater trochanter was analyzed as the trunk extension angle. The trunk extension angle at the time of maximal extension of the trunk and ball release was obtained, and the difference was taken as the extensible mobility of the trunk, and the average value of three trials was calculated and used as an analysis value.
