Results

The correlation between the recovery amount of 20 ml of saline and the recovery amount of bronchoalveolar lavage fluid was evaluated by Spearman's rank correlation coefficient. The correlation coefficient was 0.3199, showing a weak correlation. Similarly, the correlation coefficients of 50 ml and 100 ml of physiological saline were 0.7414 (50 ml) and 0.9362 (100 ml), showing a strong correlation.
