1) To show the effect of balance exercise using a real-time postural feedback system of long-term intervention in a randomized controlled trial (RCT) in comparison with traditional balance exercise
2) To confirm the sustained effect after the end of the intervention

Balance exercise (twice a week, two sets of 1 min per session, for a total of 2 min per session) by using the stabilometer installed with the function of disturbance generation (BASYS, Tec Gihan Co. Ltd., Kyoto, Japan) for 6 weeks

Balance exercise (twice a week, two sets of 1 min per session, for a total of 2 min per session) by using a polyurethane mat (StimUp Balance Pad, Celcom, Inc., Fukuoka, Japan) for 6 weeks

Key inclusion criteria

1) ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke of at least 12 months duration
2) ability to walk at least 10 m with or without assistive devices
3) Able to communicate verbally

Key exclusion criteria

1) Patients with a history of treatment for orthopedic or musculoskeletal injuries affecting the lower extremities at the time of recruitment
2)Patients with a history of neurological dysfunction, such as seizure disorder, head injury, and peripheral neuropathy
