介入校（３校）では，毎月１-2回のペースで受動喫煙防止教育を行う。各テーマについての説明プリントを配布すると同時に、音声による説明を放送後、簡単な問題に解答してもらう。以上を１回あたり１０分，１０回施行する。

The education will be provided in 3 junior high school. The education in classified into 10 different topics, and each topic is taught for 10 minutes. Each topic includes sound- and print-based educational materials.

対照校（２校）に対しては、教育が終了し尿コチニンと質問票による再評価が終了した後に、１０回分のプリントをまとめて配布する。

主な結果/Results

日本語
尿コチニンは介入群、対照群で介入後に共に減少したことを確認した。高曝露群についてのみの比較では、介入群での減少が有意に高頻度であった。父親の教育年数は尿コチニン低下に関連する因子であった。これによる補正を行っても、受動喫煙防止教育は高曝露群における有意な低下因子だった。介入群においては、受動喫煙回避に関する理解度が高い生徒で尿コチニン値が低下する頻度が高かった。

After educational intervention, urinary cotinine levels were decreased significantly in both groups. In highly exposed group (>5ng/mg creatinine), the frequency of improvement was higher in intervention group significantly. The intervention was significantly associated with cotinine reduction after adjustment by paternal education. In intervention group, students who completely understood how to avoid environmental tobacco exposure showed higher frequency of reduction of urinary cotinine after intervention.
