角膜上皮幹細胞を含まない従来の角膜移植によっては難治であった角膜上皮幹細胞疲弊症に対して、無血清・無フィーダー細胞培養条件によって作製した羊膜上培養自己角膜輪部上皮細胞シートの移植を行い、その安全性について検討することを目的とする。

患者本人の角膜上皮幹細胞の疲弊していない方の眼から角膜輪部上皮組織を採取し、羊膜上培養自己角膜輪部上皮細胞シートを作製する。作製したシートを患眼角膜に移植し、上皮細胞の生着と安定化を図る。

Corneal limbal epithelial tissue is extracted from a patient's own healthy eye, and a limbal epithelial cell sheet using human amniotic membrane is produced. The produced sheet is transplanted to the cornea defected corneal epithelial stem-cell; then graft survival and stabilization of epithelial cells are attained.

選択基準/Key inclusion criteria

対象患者で、同意取得時に以下に挙げたすべての項目を満たす患者を対象とする。
1)片眼のみ、全周に及び角膜上皮幹細胞が疲弊している患者
2)片眼のみ、角膜表面全体が結膜組織で被覆されている患者
3)同意取得時年齢が20歳以上の男女
4)被験者本人の書面による同意が得られている患者

1) Unilateral limbal stem cell deficiency
2) Unilateral corneal surface is covered by conjunctival tissue
3) Regardless of gender, and must be over 20 years old when the subjects agree with this project
4) The signed consent is required

除外基準/Key exclusion criteria

日本語
1)妊娠あるいは妊娠している可能性のある患者、及び授乳中の患者
2)感染症（HBV、HCV、HIV、HTLV-1）に罹患している患者
3)治療に抵抗する極端な涙液減少症の患者
4)移植予定の眼に次の手術を受けてから6か月経過していない患者；結膜嚢形成術、強膜上への羊膜移植、マイトマイシン処理
5)その他、合併症等のため、担当医師が不適当と判断した患者

1) Subjects who are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding.
2) Subjects who have systemic infections (HBV, HCV, HIV, HTLV-1)
3) Subjects who have extremely severe dry eye
4) Subjects who has not passed for six months after undergoing the next operation on the eye which is due to be transplanted; conjunctival sac plasty, amnion transplant of sclera, mitomycin-C treatment
5) Subjects who are not unsuitable for this project by some complications (judged by the docter in charge).
