組織学的門脈侵襲、分化度は肝細胞癌切除例の予後、再発に関係する不良因子であるが、これらは切除後の組織学的検査により診断され、術前に正確に知ることは不可能である。AFP値、PIVKA-II値単独とAFP値とPIVKA-II値の積（AP値）を術前に知り得る予後・再発予測因子としてその意義を検討した。

術前に知り得る性別、年齢、血清アルブミン値、血清ビリルビン値、ICGR15、AFP値、AFP-L3値、PIVKA-II値、AP値、腫瘍個数、腫瘍最大径、肉眼的血管侵襲、系統的切除の有無と生存、再発

AP-factor (AFP X PIVKA-II) was evaluated in relation to 2-year survival outcomes by receiver operating characteristics (ROC) analysis to determine the cut-off values. Patient survival, recurrence-free survival and risk factors were analyzed in accordance with the preoperative AP-factor.

AFP値とPIVKA-II値の積（AP-factor）を術前に知り得る予後・再発予測因子として評価したところ有力な因子であることが分かった。
