This study will confirm if the CDC recommendation would be appropriate for the general Japanese small children population regarding the intramuscular immunization practices, especially concerning the needle length advised to be used.

選択基準/Key inclusion criteria

日本語
対象者は、生後２４ヶ月以下の健常乳幼児で、当施設を健康診断、予防接種、健康相談など、何らかの理由で受診した健康な者のうち、代諾者（保護者）が研究協力に同意された者。書面による同意をします。
1) 女児・男児共に対象である。
2) 年齢は、米国での推奨針長と比較しやすいように上限を24ヶ月とする。
3) 受診時に対象となる下肢に炎症性疾患（発赤、腫脹）、腫瘍（良性・悪性を問わず）、隆起し大きな母斑や瘢痕などの皮膚病変がない者。
4) 予防接種は出生日から換算して接種開始するので著しい(1500g未満)低出生体重児は対象外とするが、顕著な症例では別記し、計測値などから勘案してデータへの反映を検討する。
5) 栄養状態の良くない児などは診察時に対象か除外か判断する。
6) 保護者の教育状況は質問用紙の記入ができないレベルの場合は参加対象外となる。
7) 経済状況は参加の可否には影響しない。
8) 複数回受診する児に関しては、最短計測間隔は４週間とする。
9) 外来受診の健常児が対象であるため、外来通院者となる。
10) 以前用いられていた薬物あるいは非薬物療法は本研究の参加可否には問わない。

Both genders below and including 24 month old, without major swelling and/or inflammatory conditions in the lower extremities and without excessive malnutrition. The measurements will be performed to healthy infants and children that meet the criteria, visiting our facility for check-up, vaccination, or other consultations. Born above 1500g at age. Guardian that can understand independently about the written consent. Economic status does not segregate condition. Minimum interval for each measurement will be at least 4 weeks. All measurements are done as outpatients. Use of therapeutic drugs will not alter joining.

除外基準/Key exclusion criteria

日本語
1) 1500g未満の低出生体重児。
2) 理由は問わず、栄養状態の悪い児。
3) 悪性疾患、急性期疾患罹患中の児は除外。途中で見つかった児はその時点で中断とする。
4) 計測部位に腫瘍・腫瘤・隆起する大きな母斑・瘢痕などがあるもの。
5) 保護者（代諾者）が自己判断能力に欠ける精神神経疾患保有者。
6) 生後25ヶ月以上の児。
7) 前回計測から４週間以内の児。
8) その他、本試験の担当医師が不適当と判断した児。家庭内虐待・暴力が疑われる児。
9) 日本人におけるデータの解析であるため、東洋人以外は対象外とする。

Children born under 1500g. Malnutrition child. Children free from malignancy, acute/severe illnesses, local skin swelling or dermatological conditions. Children of whom born under someone unable to understand the purpose of this study. Children above 25 month old. Anyone arriving before 4 weeks after the prior measurement. Children suffering from domestic violence of other conditions that the physician/pediatrician thinks inappropriate for the study. Non-asian population.
