認知症の診断および要介護認定を受け、4つのグループホームのいずれかに入所している患者。

Patients who are diagnosed as dementia, certified as being in need of care, and admitted to one of four group homes.

除外基準/Key exclusion criteria

日本語
急性または深刻な慢性疾患で医師の治療を受けている者。
皮膚疾患、広範囲な火傷や傷がある者。
主治医の同意が得られない者。

Patients undergoing medical treatment for acute or serious chronic disease.
Patients with skin disease or massive burn/injury.
Patients who could not get permission of the entry.

主な結果/Results

日本語
ベースラインの時点で両群に大きく差のある項目が存在した。すなわちサンプルサイズが小さいためにランダム化が成功せず、5週後の群間比較の解釈が困難であった。サンプルサイズの増大、層別ランダム化の導入、適切な評価者、感度の高い評価項目の選定など、試験方法を改善すべきであることがわかった。

There were some significant differences in outcomes in baseline, suggesting we failed randomization because of the small sample size. Therefore it was difficult to interpret between-group differences at Week 5. We found it necessary to improve the trial methods such as sample size, randomization, evaluator, outcomes, and so on.
