医療福祉連携の視点から、ロービジョン高齢者の口腔機能低下と栄養摂取状況の実態を解明し、それに関する生活課題を明らかにする。その上で福祉と連携した歯科的なロービジョン高齢者ケアの在り方のエビデンスを構築する。

ロービジョン高齢者および健常高齢者に対して、生活課題、口腔機能、栄養状態に関する横断調査・評価を行い、その実態の詳細を明らかにする。その結果からロービジョンと生活課題、口腔機能、栄養状態の関連を解明する。

認知症などの全身疾患があり、質問に口頭で回答できない対象者は除外する。

主な結果/Results

日本語
研究に同意の得られたロービジョン高齢者33名、コントロールとして健常高齢者35名が研究に参加した。調査項目は、生活課題調査（生活に関わる歯や口の困りごと、食事に関する困りごとの聞き取り調査）、口腔機能評価（唾液検査）とした。
「結果」
　ロービジョン高齢者では独居が多く、住居の問題を多く認めた。口腔に関連する生活課題としては、噛みづらい、むせる、口腔内が乾く、歯周病があるという訴えがロービジョン高齢者で多く認められた。また、1人で外出ができないため、定期的な受診が困難という意見も多く、住居費と医療費にかかる割合が高かった。
　口腔機能評価では、唾液検査によるう蝕、歯周病、口臭の程度に有意な差は認められなかった。一方で、歯科への定期的な受診はロービジョン高齢者において多く認められた。
