福井県の対策型子宮頸がん検診に導入した臨床研究であるFCCS study（Fukui Cervical Cancer Screening study）の目的は、子宮がん検診として施行されている細胞診検診にHPV検査を導入することにより理想的な検診法（利益と不利益のバランスの良い検診）を提案することであった。検診へのHPV検査を導入するタイミング・HPV検査の導入により検診間隔を延長できるかなどを決定することはできないが、参考にすることはできるものであった。

The purpose of the FCCS study (Fukui Cervical Cancer Screening study), which is a clinical study introduced into preventive cervical cancer screening in Fukui Prefecture, is to propose an ideal screening method (a screening with a good balance between benefits and disadvantages). The FCCS study data that we reported alone cannot determine the timing of introducing HPV testing into screening, or whether screening intervals can be extended by introducing HPV testing, but it can be used as a reference.
