The purpose of this study was to create an aquatic exercise program to increase respiratory muscle strength in elderly people and to evaluate its effectiveness. For this purpose, we will examine the following objectives by dividing them into 1, 2, and 3. 1Effects of respiratory muscle loading exercises in fixed positions at different water depths on respiratory muscle fatigue in elderly people
investigate. 2 To investigate the effects of different underwater walking speeds on respiratory muscle fatigue in elderly people. 3.Through objectives 1 and 2, we will examine the water exercise prescription conditions suitable for strengthening respiratory muscle strength, have elderly people walk underwater for 12 weeks, and investigate whether there is an increase in respiratory muscle strength.

The subjects are over 65 years of age who are independent in daily life and had not been hospitalized due to respiratory and circulatory diseases, and are randomly grouped into underwater groups and land groups. Before starting each walking program, Vital Capacity and respiratory muscle strength (maximum inspiratory pressure: PImax, maximum expiratory pressure: PEmax) are measured, and abdominal muscle instantaneous force and abdominal endurance are evaluated by the variation of the Klaus Weber test as trunk function.
Next, the land group will walk flat on land. The walking speed will be adjusted to be 60% of the predicted maximum heart rate in both groups, and walking for 20 minutes is performed four times a week for 12 weeks.
