NO
To investigate the usefulness of novel clinical diagnostic criteria based on noninvasive examination findings to diagnose urodynamic detrusor underactivity (DU) in men.

None
Confirmatory
Not applicable
The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), and negative predictive value (NPV) of these clinical criteria for diagnosing urodynamic DU in men aged 50 or above with lower urinary tract symptoms who underwent urodynamic studies.

Male
Men aged 50 or above, who had a chief complaint of LUTS, had International prostate symptom score (IPSS) total score of 8 or higher, and underwent urodynamic studies.
Patients were excluded from the study if they had urinary calculi, had active urinary tract infections, or received clean intermittent catheterization therapy for LUTS.

We compared the subjective and urodynamic parameters among the four groups. The frequency of meeting our proposed diagnostic criteria for diagnosing male DU was examined in each group, and the sensitivity (the probability that men with urodynamic DU meet clinical DU diagnostic criteria), specificity (the probability that men without urodynamic DU do not meet clinical DU diagnostic criteria), positive predictive value (PPV; the probability that men who meet clinical DU diagnostic criteria truly have urodynamic DU), and negative predictive value (NPV; the probability that men who do not meet clinical DU diagnostic criteria truly do not have urodynamic DU) were evaluated.
